Founded in 1919 with just four employees, RBI Corporation (formerly Richmond Battery & Ignition) began as a service-focused company maintaining batteries for electric cars. As the automotive aftermarket evolved, RBI grew alongside it, becoming a distributor for Briggs & Stratton’s small engine division in 1946 and expanding into outdoor power equipment parts.

By 1978, the company dedicated its full focus to the outdoor power equipment industry, growing its facilities and distribution network to support increasing demand. Today, RBI supports an extensive independent dealer network with technical training, field representatives, and responsive customer service.
